Job summary

Paige Renewable Energy, a GCG company, is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Estimator to support utility-scale renewable energy projects across North America, with a remote-work option for candidates in the Eastern or Central Time Zones.

You will translate customer drawings, specifications, bills of material, and project requirements into accurate estimates, perform detailed material takeoffs, and coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, and manufacturing

Qualifications

• 3+ years of electrical estimating experience or equivalent electrical construction/design experience including estimating and material takeoff responsibilities.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, site plans, specs, and bills of material.
• Experience performing detailed material takeoffs and developing project estimates.
• Strong understanding of electrical materials, cable, conductors, connectors, and distribution systems.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Bluebeam or similar takeoff/document-review software.
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills to manage multiple complex estimates.

Responsibilities

• Review RFQ packages and drawings to understand project scope and requirements.
• Perform detailed electrical material takeoffs and develop project estimates.
• Develop estimates incorporating material costs, vendor pricing, freight, and manufacturing costs.
• Identify drawing discrepancies, scope gaps, and risks; document assumptions and clarifications.
• Validate quantities, material selections, calculations, and revisions before release.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain and manufacturing to obtain pricing and lead times.
• Support proposal development, design revisions, and BAFO activities.
• Communicate impacts of estimate revisions on quantities, scope, and costs.
• Maintain organized, traceable estimating files and documentation.
• Assist in project handoff to ensure alignment with PO and awarded scope.
• Support estimating needs related to changes, spare parts, and change orders.
• Contribute to improving estimating tools and processes.
