The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a strategic Underwriting Specialist Specialty – Merit Specialty (Wholesale). This role supports E&S Casualty underwriting, working with wholesale trading partners to grow profitable Specialty business.

Flexible work arrangements may allow hybrid or 100% remote work across the US (excluding CA & NY). The ideal candidate has strong underwriting, sales, and portfolio-management skills, plus experience building agency relationships and presenting to agents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• 3–7+ years Specialty or standard commercial lines experience.
• 3–4+ years’ experience driving agency relationships for profitable new/renewal business.
• Strong communication with internal/external partners across levels.
• Ability to adapt quickly to change and solve problems.
• Judgment to negotiate and make sound business decisions.

Responsabilités

• Underwrite, solicit, and sell new and renewal Specialty accounts.
• Manage portfolio to hit gross written premium and profitability goals.
• Profile agencies, market capabilities, and build relationships to improve yield.
