The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking an Underwriting Specialist Specialty – Merit Specialty (Wholesale). This full-time role supports underwriting decisions, portfolio management, and sales growth.

It is remote nationwide with travel as needed and requires strong technical underwriting skills and partner collaboration. Responsibilities include risk assessment, pricing alignment, and close collaboration with agents and wholesale partners to drive profitable new business and renewals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• 3-7+ years of specialty or standard commercial lines experience.
• 3-4+ years’ experience driving agency relationships resulting in profitable new and renewal business.

Responsibilities

• Underwrites and sells new and renewal Specialty accounts.
• Manages portfolio to achieve growth and profitability.
• Identifies, solicits, and negotiates with wholesale partners and agents.
