Job summary

EY is seeking a Manager in the Service Delivery Center to balance hands-on software engineering with project leadership. You will guide multidisciplinary teams through design, development, testing, deployment, and production support while remaining close to the code.

You will coordinate delivery across globally distributed teams, mentor engineers, and partner with product owners, architects, and operations to translate business requirements into realistic delivery plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• A minimum of 6 years of technology software development experience, including leading project teams or major delivery workstreams.
• Hands-on coding experience with Java and Spring Boot, including microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with at least one modern UI framework, preferably Angular or React, and guiding full-stack engineering decisions.
• Experience building, reviewing, testing, deploying, and supporting enterprise applications on a major cloud platform.
• Practical experience with source control, build automation, CI/CD pipelines, container-based deployments, unit & integration testing, static code analysis, and code-quality gates.
• Experience with Agile and Scrum delivery practices, including sprint planning, estimation, backlog management, release planning, and delivery tracking.
• Experience leading and coordinating distributed teams across multiple geographic locations with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Mentorship and coaching skills to improve engineering practices and team capability.
• Experience with asynchronous and event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka or equivalent, and with Splunk for observability.
• Knowledge of Hadoop, Apache Spark, or Apache Flink for batch or real-time data processing.
• Ability to manage delivery risks, production issues, and client communications in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of software engineering work across planning, design, development, testing, release, and production support.
• Remain hands-on with coding, code reviews, troubleshooting, and technical proof-of-concepts.
• Guide solution design using Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-native patterns.
• Plan and manage Agile delivery, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, estimation, and release readiness.
• Coordinate work across geographically distributed teams and ensure clear ownership and timely decisions.
• Mentor engineers through coaching, code-quality feedback, and career development conversations.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, QE, DevOps, security, and clients to translate requirements into delivery plans.
• Monitor scope, schedule, quality, risks, issues, and delivery metrics; communicate progress and elevate impediments.
