Job summary

EY is seeking a Manager in the Service Delivery Center to balance hands-on software engineering with project leadership. You will guide multidisciplinary teams through design, development, testing, deployment, and production support while remaining close to code and technical decisions.

You will coordinate delivery across geographically distributed teams, mentor engineers, manage dependencies and risks, and maintain clear communication with client stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of technology software development experience with leading project teams or major delivery workstreams.
• Hands-on coding with Java and Spring Boot, including microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with at least one modern UI framework, preferably Angular or React.
• Experience building, deploying, and supporting enterprise apps on a major cloud platform.
• Experience with CI/CD, containers, testing, and code quality gates.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum, sprint planning, backlog management, and delivery tracking.
• Experience leading distributed teams across geographies and stakeholders.
• Experience with asynchronous/event-driven architectures (Kafka or equivalent).
• Experience with logging/monitoring/observability tools (Splunk).
• Knowledge of Hadoop, Spark, or Flink for batch/real-time processing.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end software delivery across planning, design, development, testing, release, and production support.
• Remain hands-on with coding, reviews, troubleshooting, and technical proofs-of-concept.
• Guide solution design using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, RESTful APIs, and cloud-native patterns.
• Plan and manage Agile delivery including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and demonstrations.
• Coordinate work across geographically distributed teams and time zones.
• Mentor engineers through coaching, reviews, and career development conversations.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, quality engineering, DevOps, security, and client stakeholders.
• Monitor scope, schedule, quality, risks, and metrics; escalate impediments with actions.
• Promote secure development, automated testing, and CI/CD across the engineering lifecycle.
• Support event-driven and data-processing solutions using Kafka, Hadoop, Spark, or Flink when required.
