Job summary

EY is hiring a Manager in the Service Delivery Center to lead end-to-end software delivery while staying hands-on with coding. You will guide multi-disciplinary teams across design, development, testing, deployment, and production support, balancing technical leadership with project accountability.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate distributed teams, and collaborate with product owners, architects and DevOps to translate business requirements into achievable plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in CS/Engineering/IS or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of technology software development experience including leading teams.
• Hands-on coding with Java and Spring Boot, including microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with at least one modern UI framework, preferably Angular or React.
• Experience deploying on a major cloud platform.
• Experience with source control, build automation, CI/CD, container deployments, testing, code quality gates.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery and distributed teams.
• Experience with asynchronous/event-driven architecture using Kafka or equivalent.
• Experience with logging/monitoring/ Splunk.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of software engineering work across planning, design, development, testing, release, and production support.
• Remain hands-on with coding, code reviews, troubleshooting, technical proof-of-concepts, and resolution of complex engineering issues.
• Guide solution design using Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, Angular or React, relational or NoSQL databases, and cloud-native patterns.
• Plan and manage Agile delivery, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, estimation, daily coordination, demonstrations, retrospectives, release readiness, and dependency management.
• Coordinate work across teams located in different geographic locations and time zones, ensuring clear ownership, timely decisions, and effective handoffs.
• Mentor engineers through technical coaching, design reviews, code-quality feedback, career development conversations, and practical problem-solving support.
• Partner with product owners, architects, quality engineering, DevOps, security, operations, and client stakeholders to translate business requirements into achievable delivery plans.
• Monitor scope, schedule, quality, risks, issues, and delivery metrics; communicate progress and elevate impediments with recommended actions.
• Promote secure development, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, operational readiness, and continuous improvement across the engineering lifecycle.
• Support event-driven and data-processing solutions using Kafka, Hadoop, Spark, Flink, or comparable technologies when required.
