Job summary

The ALS Association is seeking a Development Manager to oversee Walk to Defeat ALS in South Florida and the Treasure Coast, reporting to the Director of Development. The role focuses on meeting fundraising and budget goals by recruiting and stewarding participants and sponsors.

You will build relationships with supporters, identify corporate prospects, and coordinate with marketing, care services, and program teams to maximize fundraising impact. Remote-friendly with local travel in Florida.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in fundraising, event management, volunteer development and management, public relations, donor cultivation and corporate sponsor cultivation.
• Skilled at managing participants in an online fundraising platform; ability to run reports and analyze data to build strategic outreach plans.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Must prioritize events and know when to seek supervisor input.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with multiple constituencies; strong follow-up.
• Ability to maintain integrity and confidentiality with sensitive records.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Ability to train and use donor databases (Salesforce and Blackbaud).
• Experience with Canva, Adobe Suite, Tableau, Greater Giving, Spekit is a plus for materials, reporting, training.
• Insured driver with access to an insured vehicle; travel required.

Responsibilities

• Implement a plan to meet an income portfolio goal of $400,000+ including Walk to Defeat ALS Boynton Beach and fundraising events.
• Recruit, steward, and retain event chairs and members; build relationships with community partners.
• Coordinate with Event Experience team and volunteers on logistics, printing, and materials.
• Operate within budgetary guidelines.
• Engage Care Services to involve people living with ALS and families in awareness and fundraising.
• Collaborate with MarCom to meet marketing and PR objectives.
• Execute face-to-face meetings, phone and email outreach with partners, vendors, and donors.
• Represent the organization at community events and speak publicly.
• Coordinate printing and distribution of promotional materials.
• Work with Territory team and support leadership as needed.
• Ensure integration of Association standards and guidelines.
• Attend Territory events and meetings as required.
• Collaborate with Programs and Development to grow fundraising effectiveness.
• Perform other duties to support mission.
