Job summary

The ALS Association is seeking a Development Manager to lead fundraising events in Central Florida and Pensacola Beach, reporting to the Director of Development. You will build relationships with supporters and sponsors, and drive income while staying within budget.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in fundraising and event management, strong communication skills, and proficiency with donor databases. This remote role supports a national footprint with regional travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 2 years minimum in fundraising, event management, volunteer development and management, public relations, donor cultivation and corporate sponsor cultivation.
• Proficient with online fundraising platforms; able to run reports and analyze data for outreach plans.
• Strong organizational skills and judgment in prioritizing events.
• Excellent written and oral communication with multiple stakeholders.
• Proficient in Windows programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint; able to train using donor databases like Salesforce/Blackbaud.

Responsibilities

• Meet income portfolio goal of $400,000+ across events including Orlando Walk to Defeat ALS and Pensacola Beach events.
• Recruit, steward, and retain event chairs and members and build relationships with community partners.
• Collaborate with Event Experience team to manage logistics, printing, and promotional materials.
• Operate within budgetary guidelines and monitor expenditures.
• Engage Care Services to involve people living with ALS and their families in awareness and fundraising activities.
• Work with MarCom to achieve marketing and public relations objectives.
• Meet face-to-face with corporate partners, vendors, and donors; travel as needed.
• Represent the organization at community events and coordinate promotional materials.
