Job summary

The ALS Association in South Carolina is seeking a Development Manager to lead Walk to Defeat and other fundraising events, building relationships with sponsors, volunteers, and community partners while managing budgets and achieving income goals.

This remote role supports mission by collaborating with development, care, and communications teams to grow ALS awareness and fundraising across the territory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years in fundraising, event management, volunteer development and management, public relations, donor cultivation and corporate sponsor cultivation.
• Skilled at managing participants in online fundraising platforms; ability to run reports and analyze data to build strategic outreach plans.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Must exercise good judgment in prioritizing the scheduling of events; must know when to seek input from supervisor.
• Able to communicate both orally and in writing in a timely and effective manner to multiple constituencies.
• Able to maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality in working with sensitive, confidential records and information.
• Experience using Canva, Adobe Suite, Tableau, Greater Giving, and Spekit a plus for producing and/or editing program-specific materials, running reports, and accessing training
• Insured driver with access to an insured vehicle as frequent travel throughout the territory is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute plans to meet income goals of $400,000+ from events in SC.
• Recruit, steward and retain event chairs and community partners.
• Coordinate logistics with Event Experience team and volunteers.
• Operate within budgetary guidelines.
• Engage Care Services to involve people living with ALS and families.
• Collaborate with MarCom to meet marketing objectives.
• Meet with corporate and individual donors and partners.
• Represent ALS Association at community events.
• Prepare and distribute promotional materials.
• Support Territory team and Managing Director as needed.
• Ensure adherence to organizational standards.
• Attend Territory events and meetings.
• Collaborate with Programs and Development to improve fundraising impact.
• Perform other duties to support mission.
