Job summary

The American Heart Association is seeking a Development Coordinator (Temporary) to support School Fundraising programs for the Kids Heart Challenge campaign. This remote, 14-week assignment begins December 14, 2026, with a May 2027 end date, based in the Northeast (New Jersey).

The role focuses on data entry, email and phone outreach, and collaboration with the RVP and Development Directors, maintaining school engagement objectives.

Qualifications

• Three years’ experience in administrative work, project coordination, and/or event management with strong attention to detail.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in event planning, organizing, consultation, and event management preferred; proficient in web conferencing (Zoom, Teams, Event.Gives).
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Proficient with PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; advanced skills preferred; skills may be tested.
• Ability to work in a team and build relationships across staff and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Meet regularly with directors and volunteers to maintain open communication and objectives.
• Respond to inquiries internally and externally in a timely, knowledgeable manner.
• Support Directors/Sr. Directors and senior leaders; perform other duties as required.
• Prepare presentations, correspondence, and meeting minutes promptly.
• Work independently and within a team on ongoing and nonrecurring projects.
• Enter, maintain, and report on donor data, donor payments, events, and prospect details.
