Job summary

Silvus Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, is seeking a Business Development Engineer to bridge RF capabilities with USSOCOM requirements. You will collaborate with engineering and business development teams to demonstrate capabilities across tactical environments and field trials.

The role requires up to 50% travel, security clearance, and a strong background in RF systems, networking, and test automation. Remote work may be possible depending on location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer/Network engineering or related C5ISR field with 2–5 years of demonstrated experience in systems engineering, technical business development, or defense technology roles.
• Exposure to or working knowledge of Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), IP-based routing protocols, or tactical communication systems.
• Basic familiarity with RF test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
• Security Clearance: Government SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.
• Citizen due to clients under U.S.; practical experience with TCP/IP networking, Linux environments, or scripting languages (e.g., Python, C++) for test automation.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote team setting.
• Outdoor environment for large-scale field trials and tactical demonstrations.
• Lift equipment up to 50 lbs. for the set-up of complex tactical network demonstrations and testing.

Responsibilities

• Assist in analyzing USSOCOM capability gaps and mapping operational needs to tactical radio solutions.
• Support network configuration, and live-on-the-air execution of field trials and tests.
• Collaborate to leverage testing/benchmark data to verify architectures.
• Maintain alignment with the Business Development team to meet strategic priorities.
• Build and present technical demonstrations for low-signature, tactical edge needs.
• Travel up to 50% and support field-testing environments.
• Engage with stakeholders across PEO-SOF Digital Applications / PEO-C4, SOF AT&L, SOFWERX, and S&T leads.
