Job summary

SMX is seeking a Data Integration Specialist to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines connecting client source systems to a new budgeting platform. This full-time, 100% remote role requires up to 20% travel and a Public Trust clearance.

You will work with SAP S/4HANA, SAC, and HANA to ensure data quality and timely delivery. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in data integration or data engineering, strong SQL/CDS skills, and the ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on data integration or data engineering experience.
• Proficiency with SAP SAC, SAP HANA, S/4HANA, BW/4HANA and BW.
• Strong CDS, SQL, and relational database skills (HANA, SQL Server, Oracle).
• Experience with loading data into SAC and S/4HANA source systems; SAP Data Services or SAP BTP.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities; detail-oriented.
• Strong communication; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Eligibility for Public Trust clearance (US citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for financial data.
• Analyze and map data from source systems like SAP S/4HANA to the budget platform.
• Write and optimize CDS views and SQL scripts for data transformation.
• Implement data quality checks and reconciliation processes.
• Monitor jobs and optimize pipeline performance to meet SLAs.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and client SMEs.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and SOPs.
