Job summary

SMX is seeking a Data Integration Specialist to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines connecting source financial systems to a new budgeting and forecasting platform. This full-time role is 100% remote with minimal travel (<20%) and requires US citizenship for Public Trust clearance.

You will work with SAP S/4HANA, HANA, SAC, and BW components, building scalable ETL/ELT processes, performing data quality checks, and aligning data flows with client requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in a data integration, CDS View development, ETL development, or data engineering role.
• Proficiency in writing CDS, SQL, and working with relational databases (HANA, SQL Server, Oracle).
• Experience loading data into SAC/S/4HANA sources; familiarity with SAP Data Services or SAP BTP.

Responsibilities

• Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to extract financial data and load into the budget solution.
• Source System Analysis: Analyze data from SAP S/4HANA and other government financial systems to understand structures and rules.
• Data Mapping & Transformation: Create data mappings and write CDS views and SQL for data transformation.
• Data Quality Assurance: Implement data quality checks, validation routines, and reconciliations.
• Troubleshooting & Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize data pipelines to meet SLAs.
• Collaboration: Work with project managers, solution architects, and client SMEs to align design with goals.
• Documentation: Develop technical docs including data flow diagrams and SOPs.
