Job summary

SMX is seeking a Data Integration Specialist to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines connecting client financial systems to a new budgeting platform. This 100% remote role requires <20% travel and a US Public Trust clearance, with a pay range clearly defined by SMX.

Responsibilities include building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, data mapping with CDS views, and ensuring data quality and performance across SAP SAC/HANA environments. Strong communication and client-facing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in a data integration, CDS View development, ETL development, or data engineering role.
• Proficiency with CDS, SQL and relational databases (e.g., SAP HANA, SQL Server, Oracle).

Responsibilities

• Data Pipeline Development: design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to extract financial data and load into the budget solution.
• Source System Analysis: analyze data from SAP S/4HANA and other government financial systems for structures and rules.
• Data Mapping & Transformation: write CDS views and SQL scripts to transform and cleanse data.
• Data Quality Assurance: implement data quality checks and reconciliation processes.
• Troubleshooting & Performance Tuning: monitor and optimize data pipelines to meet SLAs.
• Collaboration: work with PMs, architects, consultants, and client SMEs on integration design.
• Documentation: maintain data flow diagrams, specs, and SOPs.
