Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Manager, Data Engineering in the United States. You will lead a remote team of five+ engineers, shaping an enterprise data platform with Medallion architecture across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers.

You will drive CI/CD, governance, and secure, observable pipelines while collaborating with architects and business partners. You will mentor engineers, translate architecture into practical patterns, and deliver reliable data products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop a team of at least five data engineers including hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews.
• Translate data architecture strategy into actionable roadmaps, backlogs, sprint plans, and measurable outcomes.
• Oversee day-to-day engineering execution, delegate tasks, review code, and ensure high-quality delivery.
• Establish engineering standards for maintainability, documentation, and repeatable delivery across the data function.
• Drive Medallion architecture implementation (Bronze/Silver/Gold) with Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, SQL Server, dbt, Boomi, and Rivery.
• Partner with Data Architect to translate principles into reusable patterns, guardrails, and reference pipelines.
• Implement DataOps practices with CI/CD, version control, release management, testing, monitoring, and runbooks.
• Improve pipeline observability and reliability with data freshness monitoring and incident response.
• Collaborate with application and database teams on efficient, non-disruptive data access (CDC, read replicas, batching).
• Design and oversee ingestion/transformation for APIs, CDC-enabled databases, and file feeds.
• Clarify requirements with stakeholders and prioritize platform initiatives.
• Foster a culture of accountability, mentorship, and continuous improvement.
• Support cross-functional projects and uphold organizational values.
