Jobgether is seeking a Manager, Data Engineering based in the United States for a remote-first role. You will lead a team of at least five data engineers, translating data architecture strategy into reliable pipelines and data products.

This role blends hands-on technical leadership with people management, focusing on Medallion architecture, lakehouse platforms, DataOps, CI/CD, and governance, while collaborating with stakeholders to deliver measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 10+ years in software or data engineering with production data pipelines and platforms.
• 2+ years in technical leadership, team planning, reviews, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Direct people management including hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews.
• Deep hands-on Databricks, Spark, Boomi or Rivery, and Delta Lake experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of at least five data engineers with hiring, onboarding, reviews, coaching, and accountability.
• Translate data architecture strategy into roadmaps, backlogs, sprint plans, and measurable delivery outcomes.
• Oversee day-to-day engineering execution, delegating tasks and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Establish engineering standards for maintainability, documentation, and repeatable delivery.
• Drive Medallion architecture implementation across Bronze, Silver, and Gold with Azure Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, SQL Server, dbt, Boomi, and Rivery.
• Collaborate with Data Architect to translate principles into reusable patterns and guardrails.
• Implement modern DataOps with CI/CD, source control, reviews, release management, testing, and runbooks.
• Improve pipeline observability and reliability with data freshness monitoring and incident response.
• Design efficient data access patterns for upstream SQL Server systems with CDC, read replicas, and batching.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements and prioritize initiatives aligned with platform strategy.
