Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Manager, Data Engineering for a partner company in the United States. This remote-first role leads a team of five+ engineers, shaping an enterprise data platform with lakehouse architectures and modern DataOps practices.

You will own roadmaps, drive CI/CD, ensure data quality, and collaborate closely with architects, stakeholders, and business units to deliver reliable data pipelines and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 10+ years of professional experience in software or data engineering, including production-grade data pipelines.
• 2+ years in a technical leadership capacity with team coordination and delivery ownership.
• Direct people management including hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews.
• Deep hands-on expertise with Databricks and Spark, Boomi or Rivery, and Delta Lake patterns.
• Strong experience designing ETL/ELT pipelines and data ingestion.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of at least five data engineers, including hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews.
• Translate enterprise data architecture strategy into actionable roadmaps and sprint plans.
• Oversee day-to-day engineering execution and ensure high-quality delivery.
• Establish engineering standards for maintainability, documentation, and repeatable delivery.
• Drive Medallion architecture implementation (Bronze/Silver/Gold) with Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, SQL Server, dbt, Boomi, and Rivery.
• Collaborate with Data Architect to implement patterns, guardrails, and reference pipelines.
• Strengthen DataOps practices with CI/CD, code reviews, and runbooks.
• Improve pipeline observability, data quality, and incident response.
• Design efficient, non-disruptive data access for upstream SQL Server systems using CDC and read replicas.
• Oversee ingestion and transformation workflows for APIs, CDC databases, and file feeds.
