Job summary

Jobgether, on behalf of a partner, seeks a Manager, Data Engineering to lead a remote, US-based data platform initiative. You will guide a team of five+ engineers, translate architecture strategy into actionable roadmaps, and drive modern lakehouse patterns with Databricks, Delta Lake, and dbt.

You will foster DataOps practices, strong governance, and reliable, observable pipelines while collaborating with data architects, business partners, and engineering leadership in a remote-first setting.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software or data engineering with production pipelines
• 2+ years in technical leadership including team coordination and delivery ownership
• Hands-on Databricks, Spark, and Delta Lake experience
• Experience with Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) and data lakehouse patterns
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of at least five data engineers and oversee hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews
• Translate enterprise data architecture strategy into roadmaps, backlogs, and sprint plans
• Oversee day-to-day engineering execution and ensure high‑quality delivery
• Establish engineering standards, governance, and documentation for maintainable pipelines
• Drive Medallion architecture implementation using Azure Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, SQL Server, dbt, Boomi, and Rivery
• Collaborate with Data Architect to define patterns, guardrails, and reusable pipelines
• Implement DataOps with CI/CD, code reviews, runbooks, and release management
• Improve pipeline observability and data quality with monitoring and incident response
• Work with upstream systems and application teams to design non‑disruptive data access
• Define source ingestion strategies and requirement clarifications with stakeholders
• Promote accountability and mentoring to grow technical leaders
• Foster a collaborative, high‑performing remote team
• Support broader strategic initiatives and organizational values
