Job summary

Jobgether seeks a Manager, Data Engineering in the United States to lead a team of five+ engineers, translating data architecture strategy into scalable pipelines and products. You will drive Medallion architecture, governance, and secure, observable data platforms in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in software or data engineering with production pipelines.
• 2+ years in technical leadership with team coordination.
• Direct people management experience.
• Deep hands-on with Databricks, Spark, Boomi or Rivery, and Delta Lake patterns.
• Experience designing ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Knowledge of Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
• Experience with upstream SQL Server systems, CDC, read replicas.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of at least five data engineers.
• Translate architecture strategy into roadmaps and backlogs.
• Oversee day-to-day engineering execution and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Establish engineering standards and maintainability.
• Drive Medallion architecture implementation with Azure Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, SQL Server, dbt, Boomi, and Rivery.
• Partner with Data Architect to implement patterns and guardrails.
• Establish DataOps practices including CI/CD, branching, release management.
• Improve pipeline observability and reliability.
• Collaborate with application and database teams for efficient data access patterns.
• Design ingestion and transformation workflows for APIs, CDC databases, and file feeds.
• Work with stakeholders to clarify requirements and prioritize initiatives.
• Promote efficient decision-making and documentation.
• Build engineering culture with mentoring and succession planning.
• Drive continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.
• Support broader strategic initiatives and uphold values.
