Job summary

Partner Company seeks a Manager, Data Engineering in the United States to lead a remote-first data engineering team. You will translate architecture strategy into scalable lakehouse pipelines and products, oversee modern data platforms, governance, and secure, observable data tools across Bronze/Silver/Gold layers.

You will mentor engineers, drive best practices, and collaborate with architects, stakeholders, and business partners to deliver reliable data solutions while maintaining

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 10 years in software or data engineering, with production pipelines and platforms.
• At least 2 years in technical leadership, including team coordination and delivery ownership.
• Direct people management including hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews.
• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks and Spark, and Delta Lake patterns.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of at least five data engineers, including hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews.
• Translate data architecture strategy into actionable roadmaps, backlogs, and sprint plans.
• Oversee day-to-day engineering execution and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Establish engineering standards for maintainability, documentation, and repeatable delivery.
• Drive Medallion architecture implementation (Bronze/Silver/Gold) with Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, SQL Server, dbt, Boomi and Rivery.
• Partner with Data Architect to translate principles into practical patterns and guardrails.
• Implement DataOps practices with CI/CD, code reviews, and release management.
• Improve pipeline observability and reliability with data freshness and quality monitoring.
• Collaborate with application and database teams on non-disruptive data access patterns (CDC, read replicas, batching).
• Design ingestion/transformation workflows for APIs, CDC-enabled DBs, and file feeds.
