Job summary

Jobgether is partnering to fill a senior Manager, Data Engineering role in the United States. The position leads a data engineering team, shaping an enterprise data platform and modern lakehouse architecture using Databricks, Spark, and Delta Lake.

You will own roadmaps, governance, and DataOps, while mentoring engineers and driving high-quality delivery. The role emphasizes collaboration with data architects, business stakeholders, and application teams in a fully remote, remote-first setting,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Data Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in software or data engineering, with production pipelines.
• 2+ years in technical leadership, including team coordination and delivery ownership.
• Direct people management experience and hiring/onboarding.
• Deep Databricks and Spark expertise, Delta Lake patterns.
• Experience with Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold).
• Experience with CI/CD, DataOps, monitoring, and runbooks.
• Experience with upstream SQL Server systems and data access patterns.
• Strong communication with engineers, architects, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of at least five data engineers, with hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews.
• Translate data architecture strategy into roadmaps and prioritized backlogs.
• Oversee day-to-day engineering execution and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Establish standards for maintainability, documentation, and repeatable delivery.
• Drive Medallion architecture implementation using Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, dbt, and related tools.
• Collaborate with Data Architect to define guardrails and reference patterns.
• Implement DataOps practices including CI/CD, code reviews, and runbooks.
• Improve pipeline observability and reliability with monitoring for freshness and quality.
• Design ingestion/transformation for APIs, CDC, and file-based sources.
• Align initiatives with business needs and stakeholder priorities.
