Qualifications

• 10+ years in software or data engineering, incl. production data pipelines
• 2+ years in technical leadership with team coordination
• Direct people management experience (hiring, onboarding, reviews)
• Hands-on Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake patterns for lakehouse data processing
• Experience with Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold)
• Designing efficient ETL/ELT pipelines and data ingestion
• Experience with DataOps, CI/CD, code reviews, and runbooks
• Strong communication and stakeholder management

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a data engineering team of at least five engineers.
• Translate data architecture strategy into actionable roadmaps and backlogs.
• Oversee day-to-day engineering execution and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Establish engineering standards for maintainability and repeatable delivery.
• Drive Medallion architecture implementation using Azure Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, dbt, Boomi, and Rivery.
• Collaborate with Data Architect to implement patterns and guardrails.
• Implement modern DataOps practices including CI/CD and release management.
• Improve pipeline observability and data quality with monitoring for freshness and failures.
• Work with upstream SQL Server systems and application teams on data access strategies.
• Design ingestion and transformation workflows for APIs, CDC databases, and file feeds.
