Job summary

Jobgether is partnering with a client seeking a Manager, Data Engineering in the United States. The role leads a team of at least five engineers to design and operate scalable data pipelines and lakehouse solutions using Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, and dbt.

The position emphasizes DataOps, CI/CD, governance, and secure, observable pipelines while enabling collaboration with data architects, business stakeholders, and application teams in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/DS/engineering or related field.
• At least 10 years in software or data engineering, incl. production data pipelines.
• At least 2 years in technical leadership, incl. coaching and delivery ownership.
• Direct people management experience with hiring and performance reviews.
• Hands-on with Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, Boomi or Rivery, and data lakehouse patterns.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop a team of at least five data engineers.
• Translate data architecture strategy into roadmaps and backlogs.
• Oversee day-to-day engineering execution and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Establish engineering standards for maintainability and repeatable delivery.
• Drive Medallion architecture implementation (Bronze-Silver-Gold).
• Partner with Data Architect on patterns and guardrails.
• Implement modern DataOps with CI/CD, code reviews, and runbooks.
• Improve pipeline observability and data quality monitoring.
• Collaborate with application teams on efficient data access patterns.
• Design ingestion and transformation workflows for diverse sources.
• Clarify requirements with stakeholders and prioritize initiatives.
• Promote accountability and a culture of continuous improvement.
• Mentor engineers and develop future technical leaders.
• Support strategic cross-functional initiatives and governance.
