Job summary

ABB is seeking a senior leader to run the day-to-day Data Center Services Center of Excellence in the United States. You will oversee service delivery, surge team development, and collaboration across ABB’s Field Services org to exceed customer expectations.

Role emphasizes safety, operational excellence, and end-to-end service quality, with full accountability for day-to-day execution and staffing. Remote within the U.S. with time-zone preferences noted.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business or commensurate experience.
• Knowledge of data center start-up and commissioning strategies and field service personnel development.
• Experience with electrical industry in the data center market.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Understanding of power delivery equipment (transformers, switchgear, breakers, relays).
• Strong safety and environmental compliance mindset.
• Willing to travel up to 50% of time.
• Must have US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Improve service availability, quality, and customer experience across field service operations.
• Develop, implement, and review field service strategy aligned with global objectives.
• Maintain strong customer focus and drive retention in all service interactions.
• Drive continuous improvement and KPI-based performance management.
• Identify on-site opportunities and communicate to account teams.
• Lead operational excellence and risk management in end-to-end service delivery.
• Oversee resource planning, workload balancing, and compliance with HSE and ABB Way.
• Oversee Surge Team onboarding, training, and timesheet/invoice validation.
• Provide leadership and development for Field Service Engineers/Technicians.
• Collaborate with ABB teams to assign personnel and support project execution.
