Job summary

ABB is seeking a leader for the Data Center Services Center of Excellence in the United States. You will run day-to-day service activities, oversee the Surge Team, and ensure exceptional customer outcomes across field service operations.

The role emphasizes leadership, safety, and continuous improvement. You will mentor Field Service Engineers/Technicians, coordinate with ABB teams, and travel up to 50% as needed to support projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience in Engineering or Business.
• Knowledge of Data Center Start-up and Commissioning strategies and field service personnel development.
• Experience with MS Project, Google Workspace, SAP, and project issue resolution tools (BIM, Compass, CxAlloy, Procore, etc.).
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Improves service availability, quality, and customer experience across all field service operations.
• Develops, implements, and reviews field service strategy aligned with global business objectives.
• Ensures strong customer focus, urgency, and care in all service interactions to drive retention.
• Drives continuous improvement, first-time-right execution, and KPI-based performance management.
• Identifies onsite opportunities to enhance customer operations and communicates them to account teams.
• Leads a culture of operational excellence, risk management, and effective end-to-end service delivery.
• Manages resource planning, workload balancing, and compliance with all HSE standards and ABB Way requirements.
• Oversees Surge Team operations, including onboarding, training, compliance, and validation of timesheets, expenses, and supplier invoices.
• Provides leadership, coaching, and development for Field Service Engineers/Technicians to ensure high-quality execution.
• Collaborates across ABB teams to assign personnel, resolve technical issues, support project execution, and drive continuous improvement.
