Job summary

ABB is seeking a senior leader to run the Data Center Services Center of Excellence in the United States. The role reports to the Director and oversees day-to-day service activities, surge team development, and cross-team collaboration for field services nationwide.

Responsibilities include defining field service strategy, improving customer experience, and driving KPI-based performance. Travel up to 50% is required, with a focus on safety and ABB Way compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business or commensurate experience.
• Knowledge of Data Center Start-up and Commissioning strategies, field service personnel development and the electrical industry within the Data Center market
• Knowledge of MS Project, Google Suite, SAP, and project issue resolution software (BIM, Compass, Procore, etc.)
• Ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Technical understanding of power delivery equipment: transformers, switchgear, breakers, relays.
• Maintain high standards for safety and housekeeping and assure compliance with all environmental regulations
• Strong leadership, clear communication, teamwork, and a proven customer-focused mindset.
• Willing to travel up to 50% of time
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

Responsibilities

• Improves service availability, quality, and customer experience across all field service operations.
• Develops, implements, and reviews field service strategy aligned with global business objectives.
• Ensures strong customer focus, urgency, and care in all service interactions to drive retention.
• Drives continuous improvement, first-timer-right execution, and KPI-based performance management.
• Identifies onsite opportunities to enhance customer operations and communicates them to account teams.
• Leads a culture of operational excellence, risk management, and effective end-to-end service delivery.
• Manages resource planning, workload balancing, and compliance with all HSE standards and ABB Way requirements.
• Oversees Surge Team operations, including onboarding, training, compliance, and validation of timesheets, expenses, and supplier invoices.
• Provides leadership, coaching, and development for Field Service Engineers/Technicians to ensure high-quality execution.
• Collaborates across ABB teams to assign personnel, resolve technical issues, support project execution, and drive continuous improvement.
