Job summary

ABB, a leader in electrification services, seeks a Director for the Data Center Services Center of Excellence in the United States. You will run day-to-day service activities, develop surge capabilities, and ensure on-time, safe, high-quality field service delivery for Data Center projects remotely within the U.S., with TZ preferences for the West/Mountain regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business or commensurate experience.
• Sound knowledge of Data Center Start-up and Commissioning strategies, field service personnel development and the electrical industry within the Data Center market
• Knowledge of MS Project, Google Suite, SAP and project issue resolution software (BIM, Compass, CxAlloy, Procore, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Improves service availability, quality, and customer experience across all field service operations.
• Develops, implements, and reviews field service strategy aligned with global business objectives.
• Ensures strong customer focus, urgency, and care in all service interactions to drive retention.
• Drives continuous improvement, first-time-right execution, and KPI-based performance management.
• Identifies on-site opportunities to enhance customer operations and communicates them to account teams.
• Leads a culture of operational excellence, risk management, and effective end-to-end service delivery.
• Manages resource planning, workload balancing, and compliance with all HSE standards and ABB Way requirements.
• Oversees Surge Team operations, including onboarding, training, compliance, and validation of timesheets, expenses, and supplier invoices.
• Provides leadership, coaching, and development for Field Service Engineers/Technicians to ensure high-quality execution.
• Collaborates across ABB teams to assign personnel, resolve technical issues, support project execution, and drive continuous improvement.
