Job summary

CONTACT Care Line is seeking full-time Crisis Counselors for remote work. The role involves assessing suicide risk, providing compassionate support, documenting interactions, and collaborating to develop safety plans. Shifts are 8.5 hours with weekend coverage required.

Training will occur within two weeks of employment. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in social work or a related mental health field (120 credits) and at least one year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related mental health field (120 credits) or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 1 year in mental health, crisis intervention, or related field.
Ability to remain calm and think clearly in high-stress or high-risk situations.
Skilled in identifying and responding to imminent risk with appropriate urgency.
Proficient with web-based applications and basic tech troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

Respond to 988 chat, text, and telephone interactions in a timely and compassionate manner.
Assess suicide risk and safety planning per established protocols.
Maintain accurate documentation of all visitor interactions in the electronic system.
Engage in follow-ups and referrals to community resources as needed.
Adhere to all clinical, legal, and operational guidelines across shifts.
