Job summary

CONTACT Care Line is recruiting remote Crisis Counselors to provide 988 text and phone support. This full-time role requires 40 hours weekly, with 8.5-hour shifts and weekend days on duty.

You will assess risk, document interactions, and collaborate with visitors to develop safety plans while maintaining confidentiality. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Social Work or related field and at least one year of mental health experience, plus proficiency with web-based tools and strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related mental health field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 1 year of mental health/crisis intervention experience.
• Able to stay calm and reasoned in high-stress situations.
• Proficient with web-based applications and basic troubleshooting.
• Commitment to non-judgmental, compassionate support for all visitors.
• Complete Crisis Counselor Basic Training within first 2 weeks.
• Must be 18+ and not a current CONTACT client.
• Hardwired Ethernet connection required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to 988 chat, text, and phone interactions promptly and compassionately.
• Assess suicide risk and develop safety plans with visitors.
• Document interactions accurately in organizational systems.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to policies across shifts.
• Engage with colleagues and partners professionally via remote channels.
• Attend training and supervision via Teams; participate in meetings.
• Log into Slack and respond within 3 minutes during shifts.
• Provide referrals to community resources as needed.
• Follow all clinical protocols including IR situations.
• Complete required reporting and non-discrimination training.
