Job summary

Norton Rose Fulbright US LLP is seeking an experienced Compliance (Conflicts) Analyst to perform conflict-of-interest research, review matter intake, and identify issues for lawyer review. This role supports the US Compliance Team and may be performed remotely from states with offices.

The candidate should have strong research, organizational skills, discretion, and familiarity with conflicts databases. Collaboration with Compliance Lawyers and a commitment to confidentiality are essential to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• One year of conflicts or legal assistant experience (or similar analyst experience) required.
• Excellent oral and written business communication skills; exposure to international business correspondence is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills required.
• Strong analytical skills required.
• Willingness to learn law and principles regarding conflict of interest issues and strong issue-spotting skills essential.
• Ability to keep information confidential.
• Proven stability and calm demeanor under stress.
• Solid knowledge of world geography.

Responsibilities

• Ensure exemplary client service to all internal and external clients; promote client service across department and teams.
• Respond to lawyer and staff requests to perform conflicts of interest searches.
• Review information submitted by lawyers and support staff for completion and accuracy; follow up as needed.
• Research corporate history of clients and parties; search websites for corporate affiliations.
• Use Boolean searching to query the conflicts database and design effective searches.
• Review generated conflict reports for relevancy and identify potential conflicts.
• Work closely with assigned Compliance Lawyers to ensure accurate workflow.
• Summarize the basis for potential conflicts and communicate any potential conflicts to assigned Lawyers.
• Develop familiarity with Global Practice Standards and policies regarding share dealings.
