Job summary

Norton Rose Fulbright is seeking an experienced Compliance (Conflicts) Analyst to join our US team. The role involves conducting conflict-of-interest research, reviewing matter intake, and identifying issues for lawyer review.

You will work with Compliance Lawyers to ensure accurate workflows and timely conflict analysis. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree, at least one year of conflicts or similar analyst experience, and strong research, communication, and confidentiality skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• One year of conflicts or legal assistant experience (or similar analyst experience) preferred.
• Excellent oral and written business communication skills; exposure to international business correspondence is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills required.
• Strong analytical skills required.
• Willingness to learn law and conflict of interest principles; strong issue-spotting skills essential.
• Ability to keep information confidential.
• Proven stability and calm demeanor under pressure.
• Solid knowledge of geography.
• Strong sense of urgency and prioritization; know when to seek guidance.
• Proficient Microsoft Office Suite user.

Responsibilities

• Respond to lawyer and staff requests to perform conflicts of interest searches.
• Review information submitted by lawyers and support staff for completion and accuracy; follow up as needed.
• Research corporate history of clients and parties; search websites for affiliations.
• Use Boolean searches to query conflicts database and design effective searches.
• Review conflict reports for relevancy and communicate potential conflicts to assigned lawyers.
• Work with Compliance Lawyers to ensure accurate workflow.
• Summarize basis for potential conflicts and convey to lawyers.
• Learn Global Practice Standards and respond to related inquiries.
• Keep firm information confidential.
