Job summary

CommonSpirit is seeking a Coding Auditor and Educator Professional Fee to support the professional fee coding team, using ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and CPT-4 classification systems to code and audit for accuracy and compliance.

You will onboard and train staff, develop ongoing educational programs, and stay updated on regulatory changes to ensure timely implementation within the PB coding teams, collaborating with leadership on strategic planning.

Qualifications

• PB coder audits, education and training experience.
• Five years of experience coding professional fee records.
• CPC/CCS/CCS-P, RHIT, RHIA certifications as applicable.
• Epic experience.
• Knowledge of professional fee coding rules and guidelines.
• Understand rules and regulations governing Medicare billing.
• Advanced knowledge of NCCI, ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers.
• Advanced knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Strong organizational, planning, scheduling and project management abilities.
• Excellent analytical ability to develop and analyze data to recommend solutions and solve complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Audit and educate to standardize coding practices across the organization.
• Onboard and train new staff; develop ongoing educational programs.
• Monitor regulatory changes and communicate updates to PB coding teams.
• Lead short- and long-term strategic planning for compliant coding and billing practices.
• Maintain mastery of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and regulatory guidelines as a SME.
