Vail Health Hospital is seeking a Clinic Scheduler to handle incoming calls, answer questions about scheduling with providers, and route inquiries to the appropriate teams. You will schedule appointments, tests, and procedures using our EHR system and obtain accurate patient demographics and insurance details.

The role requires 2+ years of administrative or medical office experience, knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA, and OSHA guidelines. A patient-centered, compliant approach is essential.

Qualifications

• 2 years administration or similar experience preferred.
• Previous medical office experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance and OSHA rules and regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers incoming phone calls and directs scheduling questions to the appropriate party.
• Schedules medical appointments by coordinating patients, providers, locations and payers.
• Uses electronic health record (EHR) scheduling software to book appointments, tests and procedures.
• Obtains patient demographics and insurance information accurately.
• Manages messages and electronic requests through portals and drop boxes.
• Distributes faxes and assists in scheduling-related communications.
• Demonstrates Just Culture and Organizational Values; HIPAA compliant.
