Job summary

Vail Health Hospital is seeking a Clinic Scheduler to manage scheduling inquiries, coordinate appointments, and maintain accurate patient demographics. The role involves handling calls, directing messages, and utilizing the EHR system to coordinate tests and procedures.

Experience in a medical office and knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA, and OSHA regulations are preferred. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential for patient care coordination.

Qualifications

• 2 years administration or similar experience preferred.
• Previous medical office experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance and OSHA rules and regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming phone calls and field scheduling questions.
• Direct calls to appropriate parties and take/distribute messages.
• Schedule appointments for patients with providers, locations, and payers.
• Schedule appointments, tests, and procedures leveraging the EHR system.
• Obtain patient demographics (address, phone, insurance) accurately.
• Distribute faxes and manage requests.
