Job summary

Vail Health is seeking a Clinic Scheduler to manage inbound calls, answer scheduling questions and direct inquiries to the appropriate teams. The role involves coordinating appointments with patients, providers, locations, and payers, while ensuring accurate intake of patient demographics and insurance information.

The scheduler will schedule appointments and procedures using the EHR system and handle messages and faxes as part of daily workflow.

Qualifications

• 2 years administration or similar experience preferred.
• Previous medical office experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance and OSHA rules and regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules medical appointments through coordination of patients, providers, locations, payers, etc.
• Appropriately schedules appointments, tests and/or procedures, leveraging the electronic health record (EHR) scheduling software.
• Obtains patient demographics with accuracy to include but not limited to patient address information, telephone number and insurance information from the patient.
• Distributes faxes helps manage needed requests.
