Job summary

Vail Health Hospital is seeking a Clinic Scheduler to answer calls, coordinate scheduling with providers, and manage messages and appointment logistics. Qualifications

• 2 years administration or similar experience preferred.
• Previous medical office experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance and OSHA rules and regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule medical appointments by coordinating patients, providers, locations, and payers.
• Receive and initiate calls to and from patients and providers, following scheduling procedures.
• Schedule appointments, tests and procedures using the EHR scheduling software.
• Answer incoming calls promptly in a professional manner and schedule patient appointments.
• Obtain patient demographics, including address, phone, and insurance information.
• Handle electronic requests and messages through drop box and patient portals to schedule appointments.
• Distribute faxes and help manage requested items.
