Job summary

Mindrift is seeking a freelance CFD specialist to train and evaluate AI agents on expert-level fluid simulations. You will take CAD geometry, set up and run simulations, build reference solutions, and write Python checks for results.

This fully remote role offers 10–20 hours per week during active phases, with compensation up to $69 per hour, plus potential performance bonuses as projects vary in scope and complexity.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or related field; PhD preferred but not required.
• Several years of hands-on CFD with OpenFOAM, ANSYS Fluent/CFX or STAR-CCM+, including meshing.
• Solid verification and validation practices: mesh-independence studies, and validation against experiments/benchmarks.
• Comfortable with Python and GitHub.
• English at B2 level or above.
• Nice to have: aerospace, automotive, offshore or turbomachinery background; multiphase or particle-laden flow experience.

Responsibilities

• Train AI agents on expert-level fluid simulation tasks.
