Job summary

Mindrift is seeking a freelance CFD specialist to train and evaluate AI agents on expert-level fluid simulations. You will take CAD geometry, set up simulations, build reference solutions, and write Python checks for results.

The role requires hands-on CFD with OpenFOAM, ANSYS Fluent/CFX, or STAR-CCM+ and strong verification/validation practices, plus Python and GitHub proficiency. Remote, flexible hours, with performance-based bonuses.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or related field; PhD preferred but not required.
• Several years of hands-on CFD with OpenFOAM, ANSYS Fluent/CFX or STAR-CCM+, including meshing.
• Solid verification and validation: mesh-independence studies and validation vs. experiments or benchmarks.
• Comfortable with Python and GitHub.
• English at B2 level or above.
• Nice to have: aerospace, automotive, offshore or turbomachinery background; multiphase or particle-laden flow experience.

Responsibilities
