Mindrift is seeking a remote freelance CFD engineer to train and evaluate AI agents on high-level fluid simulations. You will take CAD geometry, set up simulations, build reference solutions, and craft Python checks for the agent results.

The role demands OpenFOAM/ANSYS experience, strong verification practices, and comfortable Python/GitHub usage. Projects are flexible, with an estimated 10–20 hours per week during active phases.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a related field such as energy or oil & gas. A PhD is preferred but not required.
• Several years of hands-on industry or research CFD with OpenFOAM, ANSYS Fluent/CFX or STAR-CCM+, including meshing.
• Solid verification and validation practice: mesh-independence studies, and validation against experiment or benchmarks.
• Comfortable with Python and GitHub.
• English at B2 level or above.
• Nice to have: aerospace, automotive, offshore or turbomachinery background; multiphase or particle-laden flow experience.
