Job summary

Mindrift is seeking a freelance CFD specialist to help train and evaluate AI agents for expert-level fluid simulations. You will set up simulations from CAD geometry, run validations, and write Python checks for agent results.

This fully remote role offers around 10–20 hours per week during active phases, with compensation up to $69 per hour depending on experience. Applicants with OpenFOAM, ANSYS Fluent/CFX, STAR-CCM+ and solid Python skills will fit well.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field (energy, oil & gas); PhD preferred but not required.
• Several years of hands-on CFD with industry tools (OpenFOAM, ANSYS Fluent/CFX or STAR-CCM+) including meshing.
• Solid verification and validation practices: mesh-independence studies and validation against experiments or benchmarks.
• Proficiency with Python and GitHub.
• English B2 level or above.
• Nice to have: aerospace, automotive, offshore or turbomachinery background; multiphase or particle-laden flow experience.

Responsibilities

• Train and evaluate AI agents on expert-level fluid simulation tasks.
• Set up simulations from CAD geometry, run simulations, and build verified reference solutions.
• Write Python checks for the agent's results and contribute to platform quality.
• Participate in performance-based bonus programs that reward high-quality work.
