Job summary

Mindrift is seeking a freelance CFD specialist to help train and evaluate AI agents on expert-level fluid simulation tasks. You will start from CAD geometry, set up simulations, run cases, build reference solutions, and write Python checks to validate results.

The role is fully remote with flexible hours (roughly 10–20 hours per week during active phases). Compensation is up to $69 per hour, with performance-based bonuses and varied projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field; PhD preferred but not required.
• Several years of hands-on CFD with OpenFOAM, ANSYS Fluent/CFX or STAR-CCM+, including meshing.
• Strong verification and validation practices: mesh-independence studies and validation against experiments or benchmarks.
• Comfortable with Python and GitHub.
• English at B2 level or above.
• Nice to have: aerospace, automotive, offshore or turbomachinery background; multiphase or particle-laden flow experience.
