Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services seeks a Remote IP Facility CCS Coder to code inpatient, outpatient, ED, Home Health and professional services in accordance with ICD-9/10 and CPT-4 for reimbursement and compliance.

The role requires 1–3 years of coding experience, a credential set (HCS-D/CCS/CCS-P/CPC-H/CPC or RHIT/RHIA within one year), and solid computer skills. Remote work with varied hours and supportive policies are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years experience as a coder.
• Certifications: HCS-D, CCS, CCS-P, CPC-H, or CPC; or RHIT/RHIA with credential within 1 year.
• Experience with encoder preferred.
• Experience with an Electronic Medical Record preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and code inpatient/outpatient hospital records, ED, home health, hospice and professional services for reimbursement.
• Abstract data for QA and Joint Commission reporting.
• Access multiple systems to complete coding and support accounts receivable.
• Resolve pre-bill edits/denials for assigned accounts.
• Stay current on ICD-9/10, CPT-4, HCPCS, DRG, APC and HHRG changes.
• Maintain accuracy and productivity per policy.
• Communicate issues to the Clinical Coding Manager/Supervisor.
• Code across multiple service areas as needed.
• Maintain CE requirements per policy.
