Presbyterian Healthcare Services seeks a Remote IP Facility CCS Coder in Albuquerque, NM to code inpatient and/or outpatient hospital records, ED records, Home Health & Hospice, and professional services for reimbursement, research, and compliance with Federal regulations.

The role requires 1–3 years of coding experience, appropriate certifications, and strong computing skills. This is a remote position with NM-based operations, offering varied shifts and a focus on accuracy and productivity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required. Must hold one of the coding certifications at hire (HCS-D, CCS, CCS-P, CPC-H, CPC, RHIT or RHIA) within one year.
• 1–3 years experience as a coder.
• Computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Review patients' entire medical record, assign CPT, ICD and MS-DRG for reimbursement and research.
• Abstract data for quality improvement and Joint Commission reporting.
• Access multiple systems to complete coding and resolve pre-bill edits or denials.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ICD-9/10, CPT-4, HCPCS, DRG, APC and HHRG updates.
• Stay current with coding guidelines through in-services and training.
