Presbyterian Healthcare Services in New Mexico is seeking a Remote HCC Coder with CRC to join our team. This full-time, non-exempt position supports coding across inpatient, outpatient, ER, home health, and professional services to ensure accurate reimbursement and compliance.

The ideal candidate will hold a coding credential (HCS-D, CCS, CCS-P, CPC-H or CPC, or RHIT/RHIA), have 1–3 years of experience, and be proficient with CPT/ICD coding, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and EMR systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Must have any one of the following coding certifications at time of hire: HCS-D, CCS, CCS-P, CPC-H or CPC, or RHIT/RHIA with achievement of one of the coding credentials above within one year of hire.
• One-three years experience as a coder required.
• Must possess computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Experience with an encoder preferred.
• Experience with an Electronic Medical Record preferred.

Responsibilities

• Codes inpatient and/or outpatient hospital records, ED records, Home Health & Hospice records and/or professional fee services using ICD-9/10 CM and CPT-4.
• Assigns CPT, ICD and MS-DRG for reimbursement and research.
• Abstracts data for the QI department and Joint Commission.
• Uses multiple systems to complete coding in a timely manner.
• Maintains accounts receivable by generating queries and resolving pre-bill edits/denials.
