Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is hiring a Remote Certified Cardiothoracic Vascular Surgery Coder to join our team. The role requires coding inpatient/outpatient hospital records and professional services using ICD-9/10 CM and CPT-4, with experience in a critical specialty as determined by Coding Leadership.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, a CCS/CCS-P/CPC-H or RHIT/RHIA with credential within one year, and 3–5 years of coding experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have one of the following coding certifications at time of hire: CCS, CCS-P, CPC-H, or RHIT/RHIA with achievement of one of the coding credentials above within one year of hire.
• Three to five years experience as a coder required.

Responsibilities

• Code inpatient and/or outpatient hospital records, ED records, Home Health & Hospice records and/or professional fee services.
• Assign CPT, ICD and MS-DRG codes for financial reimbursement and research in accordance with regulations.
• Review medical records and research the records to complete coding in a timely manner.
• Resolve pre-bill edits and denials for assigned accounts.
• Stay current with coding guidelines and updates.
