Job summary

Regional Health Services is seeking a remote-based Coder who will review documentation and assign precise CPT-4 and ICD-10-CM codes for patient encounters across office, nursing home, inpatient, ER, and outpatient settings.

Requirements include CCS/CPC certification (RHIT considered), 2+ years of coding experience in CPT/ICD-10-CM, and strong typing/computer skills. Remote role with occasional onsite visits; candidate must reside in the United States.

Qualifications

• Course in medical terminology as evidenced by appropriate transcripts from recognized educational institutions or training organizations.
• Certification such as CCS or CPC is required. RHIT will be considered.
• At least 2 years of relevant health care coding experience, preferably in CPT or ICD-10-CM coding systems and in medical group practice or hospital settings.
• Be able to interact well with patients, physicians, and other staff.
• Typing and computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• The Coder is responsible for reviewing provider service documentation and, from the documentation, assigning accurate CPT-4 and ICD-10-CM codes to the patient encounter form.
• Sources of the documentation may include office visits, nursing home visits, inpatient, ER and outpatient hospital visits.
