Job summary

American Red Cross is seeking a Category Manager, Logistics Services to lead sourcing across transportation, fleet, couriers, and related logistics services. This virtual role can be located anywhere in the United States.

You will partner with internal clients, Supply Management colleagues, cross-functional teams, and suppliers to develop category strategies, negotiate contracts, manage supplier performance, and drive cost and service improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Management or related field or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Professional certification (e.g. C.P.M., CPSM, CIRM, CPIM, etc.) preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and execute category strategies for assigned logistics services.
• Lead complex sourcing initiatives from strategy development through evaluation and contracting.
• Develop strategies and lead negotiations for contracts and pricing.
• Analyze procurement spend and identify opportunities to improve total cost, service, and risk.
• Analyze spend, market conditions, and business requirements to develop business cases.
• Identify and evaluate suppliers and establish performance expectations with KPIs.
• Partner with internal clients and stakeholders to implement sourcing initiatives.
• Maintain category documentation and provide timely reporting on activities and performance.
