Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Category Manager, Logistics Services to lead sourcing of transportation, fleet, couriers, and related logistics services. This role partners with internal clients and Supply Management to deliver cost, service, and risk improvements.

Reporting to the Director of Supply Management, this virtual role can be located anywhere in the United States. A strong background in category management and supplier performance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Management or related field; Master's preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of related experience; experience managing third‑party spend preferred.
• Certification in procurement (C.P.M., CPSM, etc.) preferred.
• Strong leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and execute logistics category strategies for assigned services.
• Lead complex sourcing from strategy development through market assessment and contracting.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing while managing risk and ensuring compliance.
• Analyze spend, cost drivers, market conditions, and business requirements to deliver value.
• Identify supplier capabilities and develop business cases for sourcing decisions.
• Define KPIs, service levels, and governance with suppliers and monitor performance.
• Partner with internal clients and cross-functional teams to implement sourcing initiatives.
• Maintain category governance and provide timely reporting on activities and outcomes.
