Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Category Manager, Logistics Services to develop and execute sourcing strategies for transportation, fleet, and courier services. This virtual role can be located anywhere in the United States, with responsibility to lead complex sourcing initiatives and negotiate favorable terms.

You will partner with internal clients and Supply Management colleagues to improve cost, service, risk, and supply continuity, while measuring performance against KPIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Management or related field; master's preferred.
• 7+ years of related experience; experience managing third-party spend.
• Professional certification (e.g. C.P.M., CPSM, CIRM, CPIM) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies for assigned logistics services (transportation, fleet, courier).
• Lead complex sourcing initiatives from strategy to implementation and supplier evaluation.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing to secure favorable terms while managing risk.
• Analyze spend, market conditions and business requirements to deliver measurable cost and service improvements.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, Risk, and Analytics to evaluate alternatives and support sourcing decisions.
• Define KPIs, service levels, and governance for supplier performance and risk management.
