Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Category Manager, Logistics Services to lead sourcing for transportation, fleet, couriers, and related logistics services. This virtual role can be located anywhere in the United States, reporting to the Director of Supply Management.

You will drive category strategies, negotiate contracts, and optimize cost, service, and risk across a broad supplier base. The role requires 7+ years of related experience, a Bachelor’s in Supply Management (Master’s preferred),

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Management or related field or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.

Responsibilities

• Develop category strategies for logistics services and align with stakeholders.
• Lead complex sourcing initiatives from strategy to contracting and implementation.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing, managing risk and compliance.
• Analyze spend, cost drivers, and market conditions to improve total cost and service.
• Prepare business cases and present recommendations to leadership.
• Define KPIs, service levels, and governance for supplier performance.
• Collaborate with internal clients and cross-functional teams to implement sourcing initiatives.
• Maintain category governance and timely reporting on activities and results.
